Angi McDaniel : Director of Creative Services
I’ve been with UAMS Creative Services for almost six years. I attended University of Central Arkansas, where I received a B.A. in Art, then the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR) where I received an M.B.A. in Marketing. After working 5 years in the Office of Communications at UALR, I came to UAMS first as the production manger, then later as director. Seems I’ve found my niche, surrounding myself with talented creative people who are so much fun to work with. I absolutely love working here at UAMS. Knowing that an idea or design we contribute makes a difference. That UAMS is helping people every day. I see my role as director, as really that of an advocate, promoting the talent that is in Creative Services to UAMS as a whole.
Laurie Shell : Creative Director
As a toddler, my mom said she could give me a magazine to look at and I’d be entertained for hours. Little did she know that I’d was training for my future career as creative director. Almost 30 years in the design business and I’m still looking at those magazines, but mostly now, it’s my own design work or that of my colleagues. I currently design UAMS magazine, and the UAMS Journal, plus a wide array of other projects. The one thing that’s stayed constant though, is my passion to make every job, THE VERY BEST. It takes a team and I’m proud to be part of this one!
Mindy Stout : Graphic Designer
In my, almost, thirty years in the print industry I’ve worn many hats, illustrator, layout artist, stripper (ah, just to clarify, as in pre-press negatives) and manager; but today I wear my favorite hat so far, my designer hat. One of the things I love most about Creative services, besides my co-workers, is the abundantly diverse work we produce; I design both the ANGELS and the Center for Rural Health annual reports and both the College of Pharmacy and College of Medicine magazines, in addition to numerous other projects.
I have the privilege of working with the best, top-notch, team I ever have; come on down to the basement where you’ll, surprisingly, find a creative department that is as good or better than any Ad agency in the state. Before long, you’ll be tipping your hat in agreement.
Mikel Holloway : Graphic Designer
Johnpaul Jones : Chief Photographer
It is hard to believe that it has been over 40 years since I first wrapped my hands around a 35mm film camera. Yes, a film camera. Photography has been my avocation longer than it has been my vocation. I started as a daily newspaper photographer and have morphed into a marketing/public relations photographer since joining UAMS Creative Services 19 years ago. I have gone through many changes over the years, from a fly by the seat of my jeans street shooter to a slightly more polished studio photographer. What has not changed is the passion that I still feel for what I do every day. I am lucky that I get to do what I love to do with a closely knit family of creative people.
Sam Giannavola : Photographer
Paul Gulledge : Shooter/Editor
I left the delta and went to film school in beautiful Orlando, Florida to pursue my passion for video. I have degrees in Film & Video as well as Digital Media from Full Sail University. I have been at UAMS for more than 5yrs now and was a Promotions Producer for a small TV station for 3yrs before that. I guess you could say my inner child never grew up because I still enjoy using my imagination and I’ve been getting paid for it for the last 14yrs. One of my favorites is the hand washing video and The Family Medicine Project has been a great experience. I love the challenge of putting an idea on screen that connects with the audience. So challenge me, bring me your ideas.
Dale Seidenschwarz : Shooter/Editor/Audio
I shot my first surgery here in 1978 on 16 mm film. We began using portable video in surgery regularly in 1979, and have been shooting and editing ever since. I have voiced UAMS commercials and narrated surgical presentations, edited, EQed and sweetened audio and done radio in the Little Rock market since 1964. I am the producer who puts together the lovely T. Glenn Pait and Here’s To Your Health. I love broadcasting, but here at UAMS, I get to help make doctors.
Kenny Johnson : Chief of Printing
As the chief of printing at UAMS, I am responsible for the operations of the print shop. Soon, I will complete my 17th year at UAMS, and I’ve been in printing since 1974. Obviously, I enjoy what I do, but more importantly, I enjoy the creative and artistic elements associated with printing. I’m always amazed at what our creative associates develop, and I enjoy watching an idea become an actual object. I’ve been a Razorback fan since I was a little boy and have supported both of my children throughout their education at the University. It is an honor to work for a company that has played such a huge role in my family.
I have chosen to make my career at UAMS. My background is in customer services and I strive to provide the best service possible. For assistance in the Copy Center, please call me.
I have worked for UAMS creative service as a graphic artist for 12 years. I have always strived for excellence and I will be happy to help you with your letterheads, envelopes, business cards and forms.
I started at UAMS as a temporary employee in the photography Department. I then transferred to the Copy Center and have been here since.
I have worked for UAMS for 22 years in Media/Creative Services. I chose a career in print production and customer service because of the variety it provides. I work to provide the best quality printing possible for UAMS.
